Thus solidifying and strengthening the long-standing strategic partner of Envoy Textile.

In a recent discussion with Textile Today, Ranjan Mahtani, Founder & Executive Chairman, Epic Group said, “First of all, I cherish the longstanding good relationship with Kutubuddin Ahmed, Chairman and founder of Envoy Group. We both share the same vision of doing quality and high-end fashion and most importantly setting a higher bar – which not only will elevate Epic and Envoy but will also set an example in Bangladesh’s textile and apparel (T&A) industry.”

“In recent years, the global apparel trend has moved toward manmade fiber (MMF), regenerated fiber-based athleisure, workwear, category value-added fashionwear. Being the second largest apparel manufacturing country – Bangladesh's textile and apparel industry is still mostly doing cotton-made apparel. So, by working alongside Envoy – we aim to leverage synergies, share best practices, and identify new business opportunities,” Ranjan Mahtani said.

Mahtani emphasized, “So, the inclusion of Epic expresses enthusiasm for closer collaboration with the Envoy team, tackling challenges and seizing opportunities together. Most importantly, our combined strengths aim to set new benchmarks for Bangladesh's textile sector. Energizing both parties for the exciting journey ahead as we embark on a new phase of their strategic partnership.”

As for the significance in the long run, Mahtani added, “The world is in a fast-paced transition. We have to plan 20 years down the line. To do this, we must work on 3 aspects. First, building fast lead time capability. Second, production costs will go up. So, we should adopt lean manufacturing and value addition to cope with higher costs. We cannot take things for granted anymore. To thoroughly inspect process optimization, we have to pause every three months to evaluate and reset. And the third is constant product innovation to stay relevant.”

As part of adopting constant innovation, Mahtani stressed embracing a mindset first. He said, “Being a 44-year veteran T&A industry – I still do not claim myself an expert. I always say to my company that I am learning every day. So, constant product innovation is the culture of Epic Group.
